Abstract
During the tourist season small islands become very crowded with small boats, yachts and ships. This results in seashore pollution from oil spills, which must be dealt with. This is particularly important for remote places, as it is only via boat that tourists can reach these islands. The construction of facilities to store used oil from boats, as well as other waste material, will contribute to the cleanliness and protection of the seashore. A program to tackle these issues should be implemented by a committee of local authority representatives and other locals who are affected by pollution.
