Abstract
Development of Sakhalin shelf for oil and gas brings about the danger of oil spills. The paper provides the technique of oil spill impact assesment used in modelling for four potentially endangered areas of Sakhalin shelf in 1995-1999. The methods and models consist of hydrometeorological environmental models, scenario preparation technique, trajectory models of oil spill transport, and models of physical-chemical processes in a film. Testing of modelling calculations is described. The examples of modelling results for one area are given. They include local transport diagrams, potential impact zones, shoreline impact probabilies
