Abstract
This paper summarizes the results of the Dutch Emission Inventory for the base year 1995 as well as preliminary emission data for 1996. Within this inventory all emissions to air and water from all sources in The Netherlands have been regis- tered. The results have been analysed with respect to pollutant, economic activity/ sources and location resulting in contributions of target sectors to different envi- ronmental themes. The following results are presented: • The emissions of greenhouse gases originate from a number of target groups. 'Industry', 'Energy sector', 'Agriculture', 'Traffic and transport' and 'Con- sumers' are the main contributing target groups (81%). • The (total) emissions of greenhouse gases in 1996 were about 10% larger than in 1990. 1 Introduction The Pollutant Emission Register (PER)
