Abstract
In this paper a proposed scheme for cancellation of the additive noise which combines the speech signal in the pilot cockpit or the transportation means (Trains or cars) is presented. The proposed scheme depends on the active interaction of the adaptive line enhancer and the adaptive noise canceler in a jointly optimized structure. The role of the adaptive line enhancer (ALE) is to provide course estimates of the desired and also, the undesired signal (interference). The outputs of the ALE are applied to an adaptive noise canceller (ANC) representing the reference and the primary inputs The improvement in the output signal to noise ratio in this stage is 33 dB at input SNR =-7.3 dB The coefficients of the ALE and ANC filters are updated using the well-known least mean square algorithm
