Abstract
The town of Rhodes (Rhodes island, southeastern Greece) exhibits increased seismic risk which is attributed to its position in the vicinity of the Aegean Arc and also the geo-dynamic phenomena. Additionally, the risk is particularly high due to the contemporary regional structure and social characteristics. In order to reduce the consequences from a future earthquake an integrated study on earthquake emergency planning and protection was carried out for the Rhodes town, and parts of this research are presented in this work.
