Abstract
An equation for predicting 7Q 10 low flows at ungaged sites utilizing the watershed area and the minimum watershed elevation Richard N. Downer Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering University of Vermont, Burlington, VT 05405-0156 E-mail: Downer@emba. uvm. edu Abstract Regionalization of 7-day, 10-year low flows for Vermont, USA has resulted in a single two parameter equation for predicting 7Q10 low flows at ungaged sites utilizing the watershed area and the minimum watershed elevation. The standard error of estimate of this new multiple regression is less than any previously reported in the literature. 8=0.4981 In units or 28.05%. of the observed mean of the logarithms. The two parameters account for 93.4% of the variability in the dependent variable. For the first time, standard errors of prediction is available. One need no longer assume that the standard error of an individual prediction is approximately equal to the standard error of the regressi
