Abstract
The time-dependent leaching of radionuclides within a typical low level radioactive waste disposal site has been simulated using a two-parameter release model. This new model considers sorption and solubility of the radionuclides on release from the unsaturated region to the saturated region of the low level waste site. A comparison against a complex time-dependent model has been made, and the graphical results are given in the present paper. From these results, an excellent agreement between the two models is observed. 1 Introduction Modelling of radionuclide transportation is important for near surface low level waste (LLW) disposal sites with significant groundwater flow. Results from such simulations can give a much greater understanding of th
