Abstract
Generally water indices for rivers and lakes include chemical indices (COD,T-N, and T-P, etc.) and biological indices. Special knowledge and techniques are needed for these indices. Therefore, authors study water color as a simple and comprehensive index. The reflection absorbance method is a technique to measure the scattered light spectrum on filter paper with a spectrophotometer after sample water is filtered. It was previously reported that reflection absorbance showed the pollution situation of water and included various informations on water quality. Moreover, it is known that there is a correlation between a specific concentration of the material included in the river water and the absorbance. We have surveyed water qualities such as DO, B
