Abstract

Land Evaluation in Spain experienced a late development and, above all, its evolution has been highly dependent on the most significant international methodologies. These characteristics have resulted in the current lack of a methodological frame suitable for the biophysical characteristics of the Mediterranean region. We propose a new methodology that fills this gap and provides an evaluation system which considers the special characteristics of our soils and the environmental problems of the Mediterranean agricultural lands.
