Abstract
The authors deal with the problem of the suitable sizes for protected areas in Europe. They show that a larger size is better than a smaller one because the small areas can not maintain the coenosis homeostasis. At the end of the paper a table is given containing various types of protected areas taking in account several ecological and ethological criteria. 1.
