Abstract
Clean technology approaches in metal enamelling industry M.G. Mohamed, S.G. Saad Department of Environmental Health, High Institute of A/ezoWna ABSTRACT Alexandria Company for metal industries was selected as a study site for the present cleaner production process changes. The company is basically involved with enamelling metallic objects to be assembled in house-hold appliances as furnaces washing machines, Cookware and other general industrial use appliances. There are two main sources of liquid wastes, the effluent generated from aqueous cleaning processes (degreasing, pickling and neutralizing). The second basic source of pollution is the wastewater coming out of the ball mills washing after milling a certain enamel mix. It is recommended to modify the storage techniques which will increase the use time of all rinsing and pickling liquors as well as reduce the volume of sludge to be removed at the bottom of the pickling liquors, to allow sufficient dripp
