Most concentrations of pesticides studied were below detection limits in the coastal zone of the Netherlands in 1991, except 4,4'-DDT, B-HCH, DNOC, dinoseb, dinoterb, metoxuron, chlorotoluron, isoproturon, diuron and methobromuron. With a simple model the transport and fate of pesticides from application area to coastal zone was estimated.
