Abstract
Calibration procedures to correct the effect of salinity in the analysis of marine nutrients by automatic continuous flow system M. Mecozzi, C. Gesumundo, M. Amici ICRAM, Istituto Centrale per la Ricerca Scientifica e Tecnologica Applicata al Mare, via L. Respighi n.5, 00197 Roma, Italy ABSTRACT In this paper two different calibration methods to reduce the effect of salinity during the determination of marine nutrients performed by automatic continous flow analyser are described . This effect also called density fluctuation can infact overestimate the true amount of nutrients when standard solutions with the same salinity are used for the calibration by Least Square Regression Analysis (LR). Two different calibration methods were performed by Multiple Linear Regression Analysis (MLR) and by Non-parametric Linear Regression Analysis (NPLR) on standard solutions with different salinity
