Abstract
A three-dimensional large particle model has been recently developed for the evaluation of pollution within local and regional scales. The paper describes a model version with the EMEP grid intergrating region along the horizontal with resolution 75x75 km^ and 4 irregular layers along the vertical. The model uses semi-Lagrangian advection scheme with the conservation of six moments of the current particle distribution in cell. The boundary layer parametrization involves daily variations of the mixing layer stability and height, non-uniformity of the vertical exchange and the underlying surface. The model verification has been performed on the basis of annual data on sulphur compounds. In order to evaluate the effect of low dissipativity of the advection algorithm simultaneous calculations by a model version with a simpler advection scheme using correction of flu
