Abstract
Coupling of a cloud activation scheme to a spectral-chemical aerosol model is developped. The values obtained for the critical radii and supersaturations for typical aerosol spectra are quite realistic. Sensitivity studies have been performed, in general good agreement with previous results. Further developments of the aerosol model and its application to the marine boundary layer are presented with the definition of a coarse mode associated with sodium chloride. 1 Introduction Aerosol particles, natural or anthropogenic, have a strong impact on various atmospheric processes.
