Abstract
The purpose of this paper, is to present numerical solutions for two-dimensional, time dependent, flows around a square cylinder. A computational analysis is based upon the commercially available fluid dynamics code PHOENICS. Unsteady computations allowed us to simulate the phenomenon of vortex shedding for different angles of attack. Our numerical results are compared with the experimental results of Lee*. They appear to be in good agreement. 1. Introduction In recent years, the problems of atmospheric pollution have become more and more accentuated.
