Abstract
Influence of coastal breezes on the photochemical production over the Lisbon region N. Barros, C. Borrego Department of Environment and Planning, University ofAveiro, 3800 Aveiro, Portugal ABSTRACT The Lisbon region is an example of a coastal zone where a complex coastline associated to significant terrain features and sea/land breezes circulation, result in a complex airflow pattern that cannot be represented by the available meteorological network data A modified version of the Colorado State University Mesoscale Model (CSUMM), a prognostic meteorological model was used to generate the inputs need by the Urban Airshed Model (UAM). This integrated system, specially developed to be applied to coastal regions, have been named MAR - Modelo Atmosferico Regional (Atmospheric Regional Model). The Lisbon region, as a coastal zone, and because of its industrial and urban importance and photochemical air pollution, has been select for application of the system. The analysis of the resu
