In the aviation environment these conditions of hypergravity are described as +Gz acceleration. They can sometimes be notious and induce inflight loss of consciousness (LOG). In the case of gradual onset rate (GOR) accelerations the commonly incriminated pathophysiology is cerebral hypoxia.
