Abstract
Modeling of impact load characteristics for dynamic response analysis of concrete structures A. Miyamoto" & M.W. The impacting body is modeled as a system consisting of interconnecting lumped masses, springs and dashpots. Each lumped mass has the longitudinal and rotational degrees-of-freedom in order to simulate not only the rigidity but also eccentricity in the impacting body. Verification of the analytical method is carried out through comparisons with experimental results. Consequently, it is found that the impact load characteristics as well as acceleration response can be simulated quite accurately. Parametric evaluations of the resulting impact load ch
