Abstract

This paper provides research on dynamic analysis for multiple buildings on layered media, where the lumped masses are used to model the structures, a thin layer method approach is used to model the layered soil, and the mixed boundary value problem is solved using the discretized Green’s function method in the frequency domain. Coupling effects of multiple structures are evaluated with an iterative approach. The problem is solved for different types of soil deposits in urban areas in Japan, where the results indicate the effects of the layering on ground vibration around the structures, different heights and distances of the buildings. 1 Introduction Vibration pollution in urban areas is one of the significant factors that may cau
