Abstract
Novel oxide dispersion strengthened (ODS) copper alloys were synthesised by mechanical alloying (MA) at low temperature (cryomilling) and subsequent consolidation via hot pressing in a protective argon atmosphere. In the present study the deformation behaviour of ODS copper with ultra-fine-grained (UFG) structure prepared by MA of pure copper powder and 3 vol.% of incoherent oxide particles, Yttria and Ceria, was examined in a wide temperature range at different deformation rates.
