Abstract
This paper presents a method in which, the exact and simple calculation for finding the plates buckling load of orthotropic box columns acted on by axial load is possible. First, the differential governing equation for the deflection of orthotropic plates having the semi-rigid connections at two parallel edges and two simply supported on the loaded edges were solved parametrically and afterward the characteristic equation of buckling load was defined. Now, having used this equation, the diagrams were plotted to determine the plates buckling load while considering the rigidity of the semi-rigid connection.
