Abstract
Compliance matrices of bone tissue phases by optimization P. Prochazka Czech Technical University, Prague, Czech Republic. Abstract It is well known that if 71 material properties in n-phase composite are known then overall properties can be uniquely determined. In our case, a different situation occurs. The overall properties are mostly known from experiments and our aim is to spread them into two phases. This leads to a non-unique problem and additional conditions have to be added. In some recent papers of the author localization of material properties in hone tissue phases has been studied, based on either generalized plane strain assumption or boundary element method. A unit cell has been considered as periodic hollow cylindrical layered structure. In this paper, we concentrate our attention on more realistic geometrical assumption of the unit, cell, which is periodic and square with the layered hollow cylinder imbedded in this square. Then, using a polarization tensor, boundary element m
