Abstract
Determination of profile characteristics by means of FID AP computing system M. Zawislak Institute of Machines Design and Operation, Wroclaw University of Technology, Poland Abstract The application of the FIDAP computing system to an analysis of the flow around bearing profiles is presented. The flow is computed for the turbulent flow density at a Reynolds number of 6-10^. The influence of the turbulence models provided in the system on the calculation results is analyzed. A procedure for constructing the geometry and assuming boundary and initial conditions is proposed. The analysis covers symmetrical profile NACA 0012, asymmetrical profile NACA 4412 and the SHILLING model. The results of the computations are compared with available experimental flow-around-profile results. 1.
