Abstract
Coupled longitudinal and bending wave transmissions analysis in 3D plate structure using statistical energy approach T. Tsuta, T. Iwamoto and Y. Kamigaki Faculty of Engineering, Hiroshima University, Japan Abstract An advanced statistical energy approach to solve the coupled longitudinal and bending wave transmissions in 3D plate structure has been developed. Wave transformation characteristics at typical plate junctions are formulated for reflected and transmitted waves, using the equilibrium and the compatibility conditions, at there and the coupling loss factors are theoretically determined for each connecting patterns and wave forms. Based on the approach, the vibration level of an actual ship with length 70m is estimated. Local plate structures such as stiffened plates are replaced by macro elements with equivalent internal loss factor, and some coupled wave transmission problems in local 3D plate structures are solved and compared with those obtained by experiments.
