Abstract
The goal is to study by testing and simulation the method of sheet metal component manufacturing based on electrohydraulic impulse forming (EHF). The components are used in advanced machinery applications. The following methods are used. The basic metalworking mechanics is applied to a case study of an impulse formed part. Then it was analysed with a virtual model simulation using the LS-DYNA FEM program. The geometric, material and functional design variables for controlling the success of the part manufacturing are identified and modelled for further optimum design work. The results show that the predictions of the virtual manufacturing modelling and practical tests agree satisfactorily. Simple a
