Abstract
Economic unification of European countries covers more and more areas. The consequence of that process is intensification of cargo carriages and transport distances. Technical and economical aspects cause that significant share in transport process should belong to inland navigation. European inland water routes are different in their classes. Navigation lines can run along ways with changeable geometrical parameters. Those conditions favour ships configured as a push train of barges. Push trains are able to adapt to changeable geometrical conditions increasing their capacity at the same time. The cargo carrying capacity - up to the present - is an initial criterion for estimating exploitation efficiency of inland water crafts. The article presented bellow encloses an analysis pointing out that cargo carrying capacity is not an e
