Abstract
When ships come to dry dock to undertake maintenance works, consisting on cleaning of the underwater surfaces of hull and bottoms, as well as repainting operations, a large number of blisters is frequently observed on different areas of coatings. In spite of the importance of this type of deterioration, in terms of maintenance costs, until now, the different mechanisms of blister formation, as well as the influence of the main parameters producing this decay phenomena, have not still been totally determined. In this paper, a deep analysis on the different mechanisms of b
