Abstract
Review of different approaches to modelling of blade wake is presented. Compared are results of computations of propeller performance using a vortex lattice method and given wake geometry determined according various semi-empirical formulae. A new pure theoretical method for calculation of wake geometry is introduced. Blade wake in the present model is represented by trailing vortices that originate at blade trailing edge and are convected with flow. Time marching procedure is used to trace the development of wake. An iterative approach is applied in order to couple the calculated wake geometry and propeller loading.
