Benso Escuela Tecnica Superior de Arquitectura, Universidad Politecnica, Camino de Vera s/n, 46022-Valencia, Spain ABSTRACT As fires give rise to important economic losses and as public demand for greater safety is growing, the behaviour of metallic structures under fire attack is currently the centre of a great deal of research: there is even a E.E.C. recommendation on the subject [1] . In this paper we seek to analyze the conditions after a fire: once the fire is extinguished we wish to know how safe a structure is to establish the conditions of use or the need of reinforcement.
