Abstract
The optimization of vehicle use within traffic systems is an irremissible task for an economic operation. Especially for expensive rail systems, it is useful to utilize a computer-aided management system to plan the driving strategies and to calculate exact running-times in regard to the provided boundary conditions. To economize a train run, it is necessary to calculate an exact running-time, which can be used for a timetable-construction. Therefore, all important vehicle and infrastructure parameters (traction effort, air-resistance, braking-power, speed restrictions, gradient, radius or tunnel-resistance, etc.) have to be considered. 1 Introduction The calculation of running times is evident for the construction of time- tables, which
