Abstract

The paper presents a further continuation of the authors' effort to solve the problem of seimsic response of large structures, taking into account that the seismic excitation is not synchronous in all the supports. The excitation is considered as non-stationary random process, the structure as a discretised system which can be solved by FEM, with non-proportional damping. The approach of stochastic mechanics is applied, using mostly the correlation procedure, as results also the stochastic description of the response, viz. its mean values and dispersals (RMS), are obtained. 1 Introduction Seismic excitation can be considered as a mixture of strongly nonstation- ary stochastic and deterministic processes, as a rule; in the case of large structures with dis
