Abstract

This paper is concerned with the theorical and practical problem of sup- pressing the vibration of a plate subjected to an acoustic unknown loading. The plate is equipped with non-colocated piezoelectric PZT actuators and PVDF sensors. A state-space model for the plate is first identified from transfer functions between actuators and sensors ; complex modes are used in order to take modal truncation and non proportionnal damping into ac- count. The optimal controller is then derived by applying Linear Quadratic Gaussian control to a global state-space model including the plate and the real-time device dynamics. Experimental results are finally presented for a 11 modes control in the 0-200Hz range. 1 Introduction Piezoelectric devic
