Abstract
Disruptions of train services may mean that trains are unable to run according to the published time-table. It is the responsibility of traffic controllers to take corrective measures which will guarantee the quality of the service as far as possible. In practice however, they are unable to predict the effect of corrective measures on the quality of the service operations. This paper describes a Decision Support System (DSS) and a performance indicator, that will support traffic controllers in predicting up to 30 minutes in advance how the service will operate with and without corrective measures and to measure the effects of these measures on the quality of service operations.
