Abstract

It is very important for transportation companys to reform the ship machin- ery maintenance system in order to increase the profits. Nowadays the ideal method called predictive maintenance has been gradually applied to the differ- ent industries. For predictive maintenance, the techniques of condition mon- itoring and fault diagnosis (CM/FD) should be used. Owing to voyage, there are some difficulties in designing the maintenance system based on CM/FD for the ship machinery. The principles, methods and programs of oil monitoring are discussed in this paper.
