Abstract

Searching for more human places of work for welding operators results in the development of automatic welding machines and welding robots. They should be provided with the sensitive and intelligent abilities of the welder. In those devices sensors are used for controlling, adaptation and detection of obstacles. The small mobile welding robot for shipbuilding assembly works with inductive sensors, arc sensors, inclination sensors and laser scanner. 1 Project as a whole Today welding and flame cutting processes in shipbuilding assembly are mainly manual or partly mechanized operations. Welding and flame cutting in shipbuilding assembly would not give the opportunity of working without supervision nor would it allow multiple-machine attendance. Devices which are equipped with sensor systems and which guide t
