Abstract
The task of the package SANKO is to make forecast of the levels of cyclic total stresses and hatch deformations due to the action of the sea waves on longitudinal hull structure during the ship life. The current version of the package enables also an assessment of fatigue strength. The ship is regarded as a rigid body with certain hydrostatic and hydrodynamic characteristics. The stresses due to hydrostatic, hydrodynamic and inertial forces are determined in the longitudinal structures using a suitable structural model, which in the present case is the thin-wall beam. The functional relationship between ship response and encountered wave characteristics (transfer function) is therefore established. Knowing encounter probability of each sea state the respo
