Abstract

Coordinated and congruent phosphates boiler water treatment has been used for more than forty years. They are very effective scale inhibitors for low and high pressure boilers. However, many steam generation units experienced such massive failures that many had to be replaced, this is mainly due to uncontrolled boiler water alkalinity. This paper describes different phosphate water treatment systems and evaluates using of congruent phosphate as equilibrium phosphate treatment. Inspection of boiler water side shows a clean surface covered with thin red powder of iron. Keywords: corrosion, water treatment, boilers, phosphate, XRD.
