Abstract
Semi-analytical integration method for 3D near-hypersingular integrals Y. Mi* & M.H. Aliabadi of Tec/mofog?/, CWuer3% o/ ABSTRACT A method based on the Taylor series expansion is implemented to deal with the problem of near-hypersingular integrals occurring in a 3D elastostatic BEM formulation. The accuracy of the proposed method is demonstrated for problems involving curved element. It is shown that accurate values can be obtained with low number of Gauss points. Introduction Boundary element methods (BEM) are based on singular integral equations. Dif- ferent types and orders of singularity are encountered in BEM formulations which have to be accurately dealt with in the numerical implementation of the method. Many techniques for dealing with singular integrals have been developed in the last decade and are described in [1]. However, the problem of near-hypersingular integrals still requires investigation. The term near-sm#Waris used to define integrals wh
