Abstract
Appropriate determination of boundary element distribution is one of the es- sential requirements for high accuracy analysis. An adaptive scheme by sample point error analysis and extended error indicator for /i-version adaptive bound- ary element refinement is reviewed and its extensions to more complicated prob- lems are presented. Introduction Several adaptive boundary element methods for reducing discretization error have been proposed and summarized in Refs. [1,2]. Present authors proposed a method of error analysis and related boundary element refinement scheme (h-version) called "sample point error analysis and extended error indicator" [3]. The scheme was based on the interrelation between solution inconsistency on the selected boundary point (samp
