Abstract

Models and experiments concerning structures with multi-directional, multi-layered textile strengthening W. Graf, B. Moller, A. Hoffmann & F. Steinigen Department of Civil Engineering, Dresden University of Technology, Germany Abstract Since 1999 new types of technical textiles produced by the warp knit technique have been developed and tested within the scope of the Collaborative Research Centre 528 at the Dresden University of Technology. These textiles are used to reinforce or post-strengthen RC structures. In the case of the investigations presented here fibres comprised of alkali-resistant glass (AR glass) were used. In this paper new computational models for the numerical simulation of the loadbearing behaviour of textile-strengthened reinforced concrete structures are presented and the models are verified on the basis of experimental results. 1 Introduction In civil engineering, reinforcement elements are applied in particular for resisting tensile forces when the tensile strength of t
