Abstract

A 3D lattice model is used to predict the elastic behaviour of homogeneous or het- erogeneous materials. In this paper, for the heterogeneous case, it is shown that such a model gives the same results as the analytical model proposed by Hashin and Shtrikman. These results are also compared with one set of experiments. 1 Introduction In lattice models the material is schematized as a network of truss or beam ele- ments connected at the extremities.
