Abstract
A linear control system for flow regulation in open channel networks is devel- oped to determine proper discharges across control structures observing stor- ages of water pools. The two-degree-of-freedom design system is used to realize robust servo characteristics. A trade-off between sensitivity minimization and robust stabilization is made in a restricted class of the robust servo controllers. The system is incorporated into a nonlinear hydrodynamical numerical model of open channel unsteady flows, and simulations are executed under uncertain conditions. 1 Introduction Automation of open channel flow regulation is a key subject to integrated management of water resources.
