Abstract
This study is concerned with the numerical solution of two-dimensional steady- state heat conduction problems with Boundary Element Method (BEM). The development of the method is generalized to include the first, second, third kind and non-linear radiation boundary conditions in heat conduction problems. Boundary integral formulation is expressed in the complex domain to reduce the errors on the points near boundary and then integration by parts is used to introduce a new kernel. An improved interior boundary integral formulation is obtained by using this new definition. A sample problem is analyzed with BEM and also with modified BEM and their solutions are compared to those obtained analytically. The comparison show that BEM is very efficient and accurate for solving most of the conduction problems and modified interior formulation b
