Abstract
A three-dimensional two-way bubble tracking method proposed in a previous study was modified so as to increase its spatial resolution and to be applicable to thermohydraulic problems. The modified method gave good predictions for a terminal rising velocity of a bubble whose diameter d is greater than a computational cell size Ax for the calculation of the liquid phase. In order to demonstrate a potential of the present method, a single air bubble rising through a thermally stratified stagnant water was analyzed with relatively high spatial resolution, i.e., d/Ax=4. As a result, it
