Abstract
This paper presents a boundary element approach to the solution of convection-diffusion problems with or without an internal free surface caused by the liquid-to-solid transition or solidification. Boundary element formulation for convection diffusion problems is presented, along with its numerical implementation and its application to both linear and nonlinear boundaries with and/or without internal free boundaries. The nonlinear boundaries are accounted for using the Newton-based iteration algorithm.
