Abstract

We present a change type oriented model of versioning (CTOM) as an intermediate an more efficient solution between the traditional version oriented model (VOM) and the change oriented model (COM). Our approach is focused in the maintenance stage because it is the main resources consumer phase of the sofware project. There is three principal types of maintenance: corrective maintenance (CM), adaptative maintenance (AM) and perfective maintenance (PM). When the client has the option to make a contract for one or more maintenance types (normally the options are: CM, CM+AM or CM+AM+PM), then it's arise the problem we board in this article. We base our study in the variant structure principle; it makes precise the idea that components of a given version of the system can be inherited by more ref
