Abstract
This paper describes the results of the FLEXCHECK project at the Polytechnic University of Madrid. The project is aimed to construct a software metrics and testing assistance tool with several desirable properties: it can be easily adapted to any high-level procedural language, it runs on a popular environment like MS-Windows 3.1, and it offers a wide range of code and design metrics as well as testing coverage monitoring and data flow analysis. Details of the development of the tool using compiler construction techniques, description of tool interface capabilities, and ideas and experiences about how to use it both in software development and academic environment are included in the paper. 1.
