Abstract
Much work has been done in recent years on the construction of a well defined set of metrics and tools which apply to software complexity in centralised sequential programs. However, with the increase in concurrent systems, further work is required in the evaluation of appropriate complexity metrics for concurrent software. The purpose of this paper is to consider, and report upon, the application of a specific complexity analysis tool (QUALMS) to the Ada programming language. This tool has been used in the analysis of several "traditional" programming languages. Ada, however, is a language with specific constructs for concurrent systems development.
