Abstract
The Boundary Contour System (BCS) is a part of a computational model that is aimed to address the main issues in early vision processes, like boundary completion, grouping, brightness effects and so on. In this work we present a parallel implementation of the BCS carried out by means of a workstation network under the control of the PVM system. The obtained results are compared with those obtained in a previous sequential implementation of the model. The efficency of the distributed implementation is also discussed. 1 Introduction In this paper we propose a parallel implementation of an algorithm for the extraction of boundary and shading
